The Connecting Peoples program is seen by MCC as a peace-building initiative that seeks to break down barriers between people and to expand the understanding and “worldview” of participants in order to make long-lasting change, in both the sending and the receiving communities.
The objectives underlying Connecting Peoples exchanges are the following:
- Solidarity. Encouraging commitment to the global church among constituency and partner congregations.
- Relationships. Improving the quality of direct, cross-boundary connections.
- Education. Providing the space and tools for mutual learning and sharing about faith and human need.
- Transformation. Fostering personal and systemic change as a way to create a more just, humane, sustainable and peaceful world.
